no, I didn't run a marathon, but my WONDERFUL, INSPIRING, PASSIONATE, BEAUTIFUL, FRIEND, ASHLEY, did. In Dusseldorf, Germany in fact. And which lucky person got to be there with her? ME. I was so so so excited for her and this challenge - physically, mentally, emotionally spiritually- and to walk with her through it! We didn't really see the city of Dusseldorf; Ashley was busy fighting the heat and ya know, prepping her body for the rest of the kilometers she had to run, and I was busy meeting her in different places on the course, trying not to get lost on the ridiculously long-named streets. It was such a great weekend though- wonderful to see Ashley, talk about life and really connect, and then stand with her during her marathon. wooooo :)

Romans 4:20-21 was given to me this weekend when I was questioning a possible promise I was hearing from God. One I didn't want to be true for a few reasons. It seems IMPOSSIBLE to me. I felt like I was imagining that I was hearing this promise. And then, these verses jumped at me as I continued working my way through Romans this weekend. It actually was not even funny, but then it was funny. Like, oh, you are serious about that promise huh...God how the heck are you going to do that?! I know I probably shouldn't say or think something like that, but it's my human nature reaction. He is faithful, and He is sovereign. And He's FUNNY. After a particularly tough but good heart to heart with Ashley, I went to read a bit, and THIS IS WHAT WAS NEXT. Romans 4:20-21
"He did not doubt God's promise in unbelief; rather, he was empowered by faith and gave glory to God and was fully convinced that what he had promised he was also able to do." HA. Thanks for the clarification God, You're funny, and actually just awesome.
